| The "Boys" (Horses) |
|
Their real names are "Poncho Villa" and "Emiliano Zapata", but we just call them "Poncho" and "Lefty". They are two HUGE loveable troublemakers.... They are half draft horse (Percheron) and half Paint horse. They mean well, but they just can't help themselves...they get into mischief every chance they get. Once in a while they break the fence (even with a hotwire on) and get out, grazing in the greener pastures nearby. All the neighbors know them,"the boys are out again" is a common phrase we hear on our message machine in the springtime...
They both chase the tractor while we are cleaning their pasture and they have tried to eat it or even sit on it. Lefty will steal the cap off your head, and Poncho likes to pick up Dave's hammer off a fencepost and swing it around perilously with his lips. It's hard to get it away from him without being knocked unconscious. Once Lefty managed to get himself stuck between a pinetree and the corner of a building. Poncho flunked out of "wagon pulling "school, and was told not to return.
