General Surgery - Dr. Anderson is an experienced veterinary surgeon and is quite comfortable with  spays, neuters and other various  routine surgeries. We have a great track record, and we use a wonderful anesthetic protocol  (including Isoflurane) based on the individual animal's individual needs, rather than a "cookie cutter" approach. Our team is trained to monitor the animals closely..before, during and after the recovery to ensure a safe and comfortable (as possible) experience.

Lower Cost Spay and Neuter - In an effort to help reduce pet overpopulation (and unnecessary euthanasia) we offer lower cost spays and neuters. Call us for details. We also accept POPCO Vouchers and AFV Vouchers when they are available.

Radiographs - With our state-of-the-art equipment, we are able to perform and read radiographs within the hour. We also have access to a board-certified radiologist to consult with, in case there are any questions.

Diagnostic Testing - Ark Animal Hospital has the expertise and technological capability to properly assess your pet's condition and, in doing so, provide the appropriate treatment. Our in house laboratory equipment can run basic bloodwork in just a few minutes for most pre-operative bloodwork, and in other cases we can send out a more extensive sample to a state of the art laboratory.

Pharmacy - We can provide you with all your pet’s pharmacological needs and there is very little waiting time for any prescription refills. Preventive health care - The best way to treat medical problems is to prevent them. Be sure to schedule annual check-ups for your pet along with regular vaccinations and screenings for intestinal worms and heartworms.  Dental cleanings are important too, and during the examination we can tell you (and show you) if /when your pet needs a cleaning.

Vaccinations - We pledge to do our best to protect your pet against contagious diseases. We tailor individual vaccination programs to your particular pet’s needs. We want you to know: not every pet needs every single vaccination available, but, at the same time, we want your pet to be protected. This is a tricky balance. Dr. Anderson is comitted to making sure your pet is vaccinated for what it needs, but is not overwhelmed with potentially uneccessary vaccination. Come in and chat with us about that. Dermatology - When it comes to caring for your pet's skin, we offer medical tests and treatments for allergies, hormonal and thyroid disorders, as well as other complications. We  also provide VARL allergy testing for those with uncontrollable allergies. In some rare difficult cases, we can also refer you to a board certified Veterinary Dermatologist for another opinion. This can help cut to the chase, so that you do not have to keep going to different veterinarians and  get nickled and dimed to death. We are all about getting the best treatment for the least amount of money in the least amount of time. Seriously.

Microchipping - We provide Avid microchip implant technology that registers your pet and reduces its chances of being lost. Pets retrieved by the Animal Friend of the Valleys and County Pound are scanned for information and quickly returned to their owners. Ark Animal Hospital also participates in voucher programs designed to help with the cost of neutering or spaying pets adopted from animal shelters. Please ask us for more information.

Nutrition counseling - We can prescribe special diets to help treat skin, heart, kidney, liver and other intestinal diseases. If your pet's weight is a concern, we will create a low-calorie diet with our complete line of Hill's Prescription and Science Diet foods.
